Going on a hike in Ireland is just like going on one in the States, except that
Your companions stop for hot tea in the sunshine. (Hot tea is a must with everything, and it's so seldom sunny that you have to soak it up each chance you get)
If you walk six miles and find that it's really too far to walk back, you just stop in a village and ask someone to give a couple of you a "lift" back to "collect" the cars. You can pay him in chocolate.
And on the way home you might see cows using the bridge over the highway.

Visiting with new friends after church in Ireland is just like it is in the States, except that
While you are enjoying the fact that your baby is being passed around giving you a few moments to enjoy the tea being served, you find that the African women are sneaking cookies to your baby, who they think is sadly deprived because he is not yet on solids. Evidently breast milk doesn't have enough vitamins for a baby after the first couple of months, so you should switch to formula, and if you don't start your baby on solid foods now, he won't be interested in eating food when he is a little boy. These points aren't up for discussion, and no amount of chubby cheek or thigh display will erase the fact that your baby is deprived. And I won't go into detail about what they say your husband will think about you if you nurse for too long.
It was an entertaining weekend!

WOW! I'm laughing out loud at the vivid pictures you created. I'm amazed at your life. Love you!
What an experience you have. We'll never truly understand...but we can laugh from afar. Poor Asher...so deprived. He's not the only one. :)
