It continues to be true that the only news around here is the weather. I enjoyed a day and a half of being home from work this week, and really I think it's amazing that I still have a job considering how much I haven't been there recently. This is our fourth winter here, and I've never seen anything like this ice storm. Every tiny little branch of every tree is covered in ice, so when the sun hits a tree, it looks like it's lit up somehow. And if you are some place quiet, you can hear all of the branches tinkling against each other. Very weird, and very pretty.
Here are some pictures outside of the house in which I work. It is really pretty because of all of the trees and because not many people come back here, so everything is relatively undisturbed.
When the sun is setting it looks like all of the trees have tin foil on them or something to that effect, though this doesn't really show it well.
More sparkle-y trees at work.
Ice coating. And these are taken in our "back yard."

I kept hoping Cordelia would react in some interesting way during our walk, but she just kind of entered her "I'm freaked out" comatose state.

I remember that Amy Grant record! I do like that song.
Your thoughts on how creation is beautiful and harsh reminds me of a discussion my small group had about how Satan controls the world, but that seems a little deep for a blog comment.
I'll just say that all of your pictures this week have been a good reminder to me of how beautiful God's creation really is. We don't get a whole lot of natural beauty down here in Houston, but today we have blue sky and sunshine, so I should appreciate the cool crisp day that God has given us.
love ya!
You comment about God's creation being both beautiful and harsh is one I think of often as I drive by the ocean because although it looks beautiful, so many people have suffered great tragedies at sea.
Your pictures are beautiful! I love the sparkly trees!
